Enthusiasm and a constant willingness to try new things are what define Matthias van Randenborgh. In the 1990s, the 55-year-old graduate in Business Administration and Master in Banking and Finance delved into the impact of ownership structures on the success of companies. His master’s thesis was published in the Journal of Finance in 1994 and won the Smith Breeden Prize. Subsequently, he developed the human-capitalist approach for his ventures, through which he currently helps founders in asset management build better companies, from within MAM-Partners AG.
Matthias is the founding initiator and managing director of neXDos GmbH and also serves as the chairman of the board of MAM-Partners AG. He began his professional career as a derivatives trader at JP Morgan, where he was ultimately responsible for European Fixed Income Options trading.
Since 2000, he has been an entrepreneur in asset management and is known as a serial founder of various successful quantitative asset management boutiques, which today collectively manage over €30 billion in assets (Vescore Solutions AG, LPX GmbH, RP Crest GmbH, CYD-Research GmbH, Amfileon AG). All his ventures share a common trait: they apply financial scientific insights to the management of innovative investment products. This is also the case at neXDos GmbH, where groundbreaking findings on the value drivers of private equity investment processes from the Technical University of Munich are being applied to the management of liquid equities.
